But meanwhile, I've also been thinking about our recent Missions Conference, and its theme, God Is On The Move. It's a real blessing to get to hear from a variety missionaries about His activity in other parts of the world. But the reality is that God is on the move all over our world...including right here in Spokane! And just as it would be a shame to miss the deeper significance in the license plate display, and just as it would be a shame to miss what God is really doing in the narrative of the latter part of Acts 9, it would be a shame to miss God's activity right here in our midst! (You were wondering how I was going to tie all of this together, weren't you??) And not only do we not want to miss God's activity, we ought to be looking for ways in which we can become involved in it. Sometimes it's as simple as recognizing that the Holy Spirit is moving in the person with whom you're sitting and having coffee, and looking for how you might minister to them. Maybe it's recognizing God's call for you to get involved in a ministry, whether here at Berean, or elsewhere. It might even be recognizing, (and truly paying attention to!) the thing that He's telling you personally as you spend time with him. God really IS on the move! In you. In the people around you. In your church. In your community. In your world. And one of the key things I hope you notice is that our missionaries aren't satisfied to simply witness God's activity...they roll up their sleeves and get involved! They labor. They love. They endure and persist. They share. Because while the heavy lifting is certainly done by God, He has seen fit to use us in His master plan too.
God Is On The Move in YOUR world. Do you see it? Do you notice His activity? And when you do, do you look for ways in which you can be involved? What is He calling you to today?
