Berean
Bible Church News
Talo Vergara reports from Bolivia that he took about 35 young people from Bolivia to Argentina for the South American version of URBANA which is held in the States. Several of these young people immersed themselves in another two weeks of missionary service in other South American countries. It was a life-changing experience for most of them. He also led the spiritual part of a youth camp for over 200 teenagers. His main work has been with the young people in several of the churches in Bolivia. At this time, he is with his family in Uruguay because his papers to serve in Bolivia for four years have expired and his visa to come to America has been delayed. At this time, he plans to be with us for Berean's Missionary Conference in October. Pray for God's leading in his life.
Lawrence & Barb Trumbower: The Trumbowers have a radio ministry in Puerto Rico, WCGB and The (Solid) Rock Radio Network. In June, they provided offices in their radio building for "World Changers" a group that coordinates with local mayors and brings 200 teenagers a week to build small wooden homes for the local folks without resources. "The Rock" also broadcast a marathon in June to raise donations for packets of Bibles and Christian liturature headed for Haiti where spiritual hunger is still very evident in that earthquake ravaged country. Lawrence and Barb are very excited about a new monthly in-house radio program on WCGB where they generate energetic phone participation from their listeners who give testimonies, comments and prayer requests. This pprovides very important personal contact with their audience.
